YOUR RING SIZE & BAND WIDTH
Ring sizing for men is essentially the same process for men as women, and it can vary by the thickness of the band you will need to accommodate. We always recommend getting your left hand ring finger sized prior to ordering, either at Lauren B. or your local jewelry professional.
For slimmer designs, we recommend a band of about 2-3mm. However these tend to be less popular as they can appear delicate in size on larger hands. The most common band width is 4-5mm, which suits any classic style but is also wide enough to show detail in a more intricately designed ring. Finally, most larger sizes we offer are between 6-8mm. These definitely showcase design/detailing very distinctively without being uncomfortably bulky on larger hands. Of course, any client can opt for any band width. However it is important to keep in mind how much bulk you are comfortable wearing on an every day basis. Most clients are partial to more discreet options.
YOUR FIT PREFERENCE
Comfort fit: Rounded, more dome-like appearance. Fits most naturally with the curves of the hand and is one of the more popular styles.
Euro fit: Softer, but more square outer appearance while still maintaining a comfort fit on the inner band.
Square/flat fit: Essentially flat on all sides, tends to look a bit more geometric in appearance.
SELECTING A DESIGN
Plain: Likely the most classic and the most popular, a completely plain band can be made in any metal preference. They can vary by finish, such as more matte or polished looks. Keep in mind that softer metals (i.e. gold colors) will be more susceptible to scratching, so different finishes can disguise some every day wear and tear that can occur.
Design: Carved designs that vary from satin centers and polished edges to rope, coin, beveled or milgrain patterns to create overall more interesting bands that look perfect dressed up or down.
Gemstone: From black and white diamonds to integrating birthstones into the design, these options tend to be the most expensive men's bands we offer, and require a little extra attention to ensure that the stones don't fall out. For example, we don't recommend wearing them during any activities that result in more severe wear to maximize their longevity.
