Marquise Diamond Madness

Is a Marquise-Cut for you?

Along with other 80’s fashion trends such as high waisted jeans, embellished dresses, and neon leggings - marquise diamonds are currently making their comeback. Although the thought of a marquise engagement ring may seem a bit old school, our modern, sleek designs bring an elegant appeal to these antique shaped stones.

Size

If you are aiming for lots of finger coverage a marquise diamond may be for you! Similar to oval and radiant cut diamonds, marquise diamonds are very spready stones and appear much larger faceup per carat due to their elongated dimensions.

Value

Because marquise diamonds are brilliant cut, they are excellent at hiding imperfections just like round stones. Because of their faceting pattern, even SI2 marquise diamonds can be 100% eye clean with no visible inclusions. This allows individuals considering a marquise more wiggle room to consider diamonds larger in carat weight or higher in color.

Style

Another reason to consider a marquise-shaped stone is if you’d like to have something a bit more unique. Although all diamond shapes are beautiful, a marquise diamond is less popular. Because of this, marquise diamonds can also be priced a bit lower than shapes that are more in-demand such as round and cushion cut diamonds.
