Q: How did you find LB?
I’ve been following Lauren B on Instagram for about 5-6 years. They had popped up as a suggestion one day and I was immediately captivated. It’s one of those accounts that you love to browse through as every image and video posted is one-of-a-kind. Every piece of jewelry I would see on the account was beautiful and made me think about what I would like for myself one day. I never imagined Lauren B would design the ring I would be wearing for the rest of my life!
Q: What made you choose LB for your ring design/purchase?
Since Lauren B was my favorite account for ring inspiration, we decided to walk in one day to have a look in person. We were extremely pleased with the service – we were able to look at and try on different rings, get sized, and had all of our questions answered. We didn’t feel any pressure when we came in and we left with an incredible feeling – we knew that when the time came, the choice was clear on where we wanted to go.
Q: Did you work remotely/in-store for your purchase?
Because we live in NYC, Nick was able to work in-store but felt completely comfortable reaching out remotely when needed.
Q: What design did you choose for your ring, and why?
When we initially walked into Lauren B, we had a few ideas in mind. However, when we tried on an oval diamond, it was clear that it was perfect for us. We both agreed the shape was beautiful and suited my hand best. More important than the logistics, we liked what an oval represented: Traditional yet unique, classic yet timeless, and absolutely distinctive.

Q: Tell us about the proposal: where and when did it take place?
Every month, Nick plans a surprise date for us that’s usually a show, concert, or some sort of activity we had talked about earlier which is why I didn’t suspect a thing when Nick had planned a surprise date for us last weekend.
We were on our way to what I believed was going to be a Broadway show when Nick led us through a quaint little park we’ve been to before. The first time we had walked through this park, I insisted we go on the swings. This time, Nick suggested we do the same since it was on our way and we had time to spare. We were sitting on the swings when a violinist (who I thought was in the middle of a photoshoot next to us) began playing our song. As soon as I heard the music, my heart stopped. The violin, the photographer... it couldn’t be a coincidence. Nick was down on one knee before I could fully process what was happening! It was incredibly special to have our song playing during it all, the entire moment was absolutely surreal.
The best part? As soon as I said “yes,” our closest friends and family, most of whom flew from London for the day, ran up to us from where they were hiding. I was completely speechless. They had come into the park from a second entrance and were able to see the whole thing! Everything about the day was incredible, start to finish. But sharing the most exciting moment with our family and those we love the most was an incredible experience.
Nick thought of every detail - almost all of our friends and family knew and they did an incredible job not giving anything away! He even planned a surprise engagement party with more friends and family to top it off. It could not have been any more perfect.
Q: How do you feel about the process overall – good experience? Would/did you refer LB to others?
The process could not have been any better for either of us. I was able to try on different styles and shapes with an advisor who provided descriptions and intricacies to each shape, size, style, and detail. There was no pressure put on any of us at any point and we felt completely supported. Nick was completely surprised at how smooth the entire process was for him as well and couldn’t be happier that he chose to return to Lauren B to create our ring!
